Puerto Iguazu Airport (IGR) to the Brazil Side of the Falls, then onwards to a Puerto Iguazu Hotel, Argentina

 

For arrivals to the Puerto Iguazu airport by 13:30pm

From the airport of Puerto Iguazu, your driver will take you across the border to the entrance of the Brazilian national park to visit the Iguazu Falls on your own. Later, you will be transported back to your hotel in Puerto Iguazu city.

* Vehicles that operate this transfer often get reserved in advance. We recommend making a booking as soon as possible to secure a vehicle.

Frequency: You may schedule a pickup if your flight is landing before 13:30pm to have the best chance of seeing the falls properly.  This transfer may be booked any day of the week.

Border Crossings: The driver will guide you through the process of exiting Argentina and entering Brazil, then the reverse on the way back. Our vehicles use a special tourism lane when crossing from and to the border from Argentina, making it faster than possible for the general public.

Important – this transfer crosses an international border. It is your responsibility to have the correct documents to complete the immigration processes.

National Park Entrance Fee:  The entrance to the Brazil side of the falls is not included. You may pay directly when you arrive at the National Park, and they accept cash & credit card, and there is also an ATM machine at the entrance, or you may pre-purchase your entrance on this page: Brazil Side Entrance Tickets

Guide: No guide accompanies you at the falls.  It is possible to add an English speaking guide to your reservation on the next page.

Luggage Storage: You may leave your luggage in the car while you visit the falls, but we ask you to lock them and to not leave money and valuables in the car. Take valuables with you into the park or place them in the park’s lockers located at the entrance.

Pick up after the falls:  On the day of your transfer, you will set the time and place for your pick up at the falls directly with the driver. See our common time guide below for reference.

Drop off Areas: Locations within the city limits of Puerto Iguazu only. If staying at the Gran Meliá Iguazú, there is an extra charge for this service that you can add on the next page.

Pit-Stops: This is a non-stop transfer. Any stops on the way need prior permission (please contact us) or choose one of our pit stops on the following page.

Puerto Iguazu Eco-tourism Tax:  The city of Puerto Iguazu stop vehicles at a roadside booth when passing through their city on the way to Brazil and they charge visitors a small environmental tax.  This tax is not included and is to be paid directly by the passenger.  It is usually the equivalent of 2 USD per person and can be paid in Argentine pesos, US dollars, or Brazilian reals.

Do you have enough time? 

  • The gates to the national park open daily at 09:00am, and you need to exit by 18:30pm.
  • The entrance to the park is located about 1 hour from the airport.
  • We recommend that you book this transfer only if you arrive at the Puerto Iguazu airport by 13:30pm
  • If you walk quickly, most people can see the falls in around 2.5 hours.
  • To visit the falls at a comfortable pace you need about 3 hours.
  • If you want to do the Brazilian Bird Park located near the entrance, calculate about 1.5 hours more.
  • If you want to do the Boat under the falls located inside the park, calculate an extra 2 hours.
  • If you want to do the Helicopter located near the entrance, calculate about 1 hour more. The flight only takes 10 minutes, but there is often waiting time.

 

Vehicles

Vehicles are no older than 5 years and are insured against damages to the passenger regardless of whether in Brazil, Argentina or Paraguay.  Drivers hold credentials from the Sest Senat training school in Foz do Iguaçu.

For 1 – 4 passengers – Private Sedan – Toyota Corolla, Chevrolet Zafira, Chevrolet Meriva or similar

Baggage Allowance:  4 standard sized principal suitcases or backpacks + 4 small carry on items able to fit at your feet if you are a group of 4. If you plan to travel with more luggage than the allowance, then contract the van transfer for 5 passengers instead.

For 5 – 12 passengers – Private MiniVan – Renault Master, Mercedes Sprinter or similar

Baggage Allowance:  12 standard sized principal suitcases or backpacks + 12 small carry on items able to fit at your feet if you are a group of 12. Contact us before booking if you plan to travel with more luggage than the allowance.
