Service Description

Our driver will pick you up and take you to the international border. You will be guided through the processes involved with the Brazilian passport control, and then again at the Argentine passport control. After finalizing immigration, you will continue to the Argentina side of the Iguazu falls where you explore on your own. After you visit the falls, you will meet your driver and return to the border, and then onward to the Foz do Iguacu IGU airport.

 

* Vehicles that operate this transfer often get reserved in advance. We recommend making a booking as soon as possible to secure a vehicle.

Do you have enough time?

  1. The Argentine side of the falls is located approximately 1.5 hours from downtown Foz do Iguacu city.  Can be quicker if you depart before 7 am.
  2. The gates to the national park open daily at 08:00 am and close at 18:00 pm.
  3. The Foz do Iguacu Airport is located approximately 1.5 hours from the entrance to the Argentine falls. With unusual traffic at the border, it could take 2.5 hours.
  4. For Brazilian domestic flights you need to check-in at least an hour before take-off, and 2 hours for international flights.
  5. We recommend that you choose your departure time between the hours of 7 am & 11:30 am to have enough time to see the falls before the park closes.
  6. If you walk quickly, you can see the falls in around 5 hours in the low season or 6 hours in the high season.
  7. To visit the falls at a comfortable pace you need about 6 hours in the low season or 7 hours in the high season.
  8. If you want to do the Great Adventure (Longer Boat Trip)  located inside the park, calculate an extra 1.5 hours.

About this transfer

  Frequency: You may schedule this transfer if your flight departs the IGU airport after 16:30 pm.  This transfer operates 7 days a week.

 

  Pick-up Areas:  Locations within the city limits of Foz do Iguacu. If staying at the Belmond Cataratas Hotel, you will need to meet at the gate to the national park and there is an extra charge for this service that you can add on the next page.

 

  Border Crossings: Your driver will guide you through the process of exiting Brazil and entering Argentina. Our vehicles also use a special tourism lane to cross into Argentina making the crossing faster than possible the general public.  Important – this transfer crosses an international border. It is your responsibility to have the correct documents to complete the immigration processes.

 

  National Park Entrance Fee:  The entrance to the Argentina side of the falls is not included. Your entrance needs to paid directly to you when you arrive at the National park or you may purchase them in advance here: Argentina Side Entrance Tickets.  Visa and Mastercard are accepted if you purchase your tickets at the park on the day of the service, but if you wish to pay the entrance in cash,  only Argentine Pesos are accepted.

 

  Guide: No guide accompanies you at the falls.  It is possible to add an English speaking guide to your reservation on the next page.

 

  Luggage Storage: You may leave your luggage in the car while you visit the falls, but we ask you to lock them and to not leave money and valuables in the car. Take valuables with you into the park or place them in the park’s lockers located at the entrance.

 

  Pick-up after the falls:  On the day of your transfer, you will set the time and place for your pick up at the falls directly with the driver.

 

  Puerto Iguazu Eco-tourism Tax:  The city of Puerto Iguazu stops vehicles at a booth when passing through their city on the way back from the national park to charge visitors a small enviromental tax. This tax is not included and is to be paid directly by the passenger directly. It is usually the equivalent of 2 USD per person and can be paid in Argentine pesos, US dollars, or Brazilian reals.

 

  Pit-Stops: This is a non-stop transfer. Any stops on the way need prior permission (please contact us) or choose one of our pit stops on the following page.

Vehicles

Vehicles are no older than 5 years and are insured against damages to the passenger regardless of whether in Brazil, Argentina, or Paraguay.  Drivers hold credentials from the Sest Senat training school in Foz do Iguaçu.

 

 For 1 – 4 passengers – Private Sedan – Toyota Corolla, Chevrolet Zafira, Chevrolet Meriva or similar

Baggage Allowance:  4 standard sized principal suitcases or backpacks + 4 small carry on items able to fit at your feet if you are a group of 4. If you plan to travel with more luggage than the allowance, then contract the van transfer for 5 passengers instead.

 

  For 5 – 12 passengers – Private MiniVan – Renault Master, Mercedes Sprinter or similar

Baggage Allowance:  12 standard sized principal suitcases or backpacks + 15 small carry on items able to fit at your feet if you are a group of 12.  Contact us before booking if you plan to travel with more luggage than the allowance.
