Service Description

The quickest and easiest way to get from Foz do Iguacu to the Iguazu Falls on the Argentine side.  At a time of your choosing, your driver will arrive at your hotel or Airbnb to collect you and take you directly to the border with Argentine.

 

The first stop will be at the Brazilian immigration where your driver will show you where you must go to temporarily stamp out of Brazil before you are back on the road again and driving over the bridge spanning the Iguazu River to the immigration on the Argentine side.

 

On the Argentine side, your driver will use a special tourism lane and assist you to get your passport stamped for entry into the country.  After all immigration procedures are complete you will drive for around 25 minutes and arrive at the entrance to the Iguazu Falls.

 

Your driver will discuss timing your trip inside the National park and show you where to reserve and pay for your boat trip under the falls if you are considering doing it.  You agree on a time to meet your driver again and explore the falls on your own (or add a guide to accompany you).

 

At the discussed time you meet your driver at the entrance again and make the journey back to Brazil stopping to do the passport processes in reverse before you are returned to your accommodation within Foz do Iguacu city.

 

 It is best to book this service as early as possible because this is a popular transfer and vehicles are limited.

Trip Timing

  Scheduling –  It is best to schedule this service for a pick-up between 6:30am & 11:30 am to have a comfortable duration for exploring the falls.

 

From the downtown of Foz do Iguacu it takes between 1 hour to 1.5 hours to get to the Argentine side of the falls.  When departing around 6:30 am you will usually find fewer people at the border.

 

The park opens its gates at 08:00 am and closes them again at 18:00 pm.

 

If you walk quickly, you can see the falls in around 5 hours in the low season (April to November) or 6 hours in the high season (December to March).

 

To visit the falls at a comfortable pace you need about 6 hours in the low season (April to November) or 7 hours in the high season (December to March).

 

Because of the extra crowds and traffic, it will take longer to see the falls on public holidays, long weekends and the period between Christmas and New Years.

 

If you want to do the boat trip under the falls, calculate an extra 1.5 hours.

Transport Details

  Pick-up & drop off areas: Locations within the city limits of Foz do Iguacu. If you are staying at the Belmond Cataratas Hotel then pick-up & drop off is at the hotel’s shuttle reception at the entrance to the national park.  There is an extra fee for this service which you add during the booking.

 

  Procedures at the Border:  Our drivers make the border a quick and easy process and will show you exactly where you need to process your documents for exiting Brazil and entering Argentina. The only thing you have to worry about is making sure you have the correct documents for crossing international borders.

 

  National Park Entrance Fee: The entrance to the falls is not included. Your entrance needs to paid directly by you when you arrive at the National park, or pre-purchase here:  https://iguazuargentina.com/en/parque-nacional-iguazu.  If paying on the day, Visa and Mastercard are accepted, but if you wish to pay the entrance in cash, only Argentine Pesos are accepted.

 

  Pick-up after the falls:  On the day of your transfer, you will set the time and place for your pick up at the falls directly with the driver.

 

  Puerto Iguazu Eco-tourism Tax:  The city of Puerto Iguazu stops vehicles at a booth when passing through their city on the way back from the national park to charge visitors a small enviromental tax. This tax is not included and is to be paid directly by the passenger directly. It is usually the equivalent of 2 USD per person and can be paid in Argentine pesos, US dollars, or Brazilian reals.

 

  Guide: No guide accompanies you at the falls.  It is possible to add an English speaking guide to your reservation on the next page.

Vehicles

Vehicles are no older than 5 years and are insured against damages to the passenger regardless of whether in Brazil, Argentina or Paraguay.  Drivers hold credentials from the Sest Senat training school in Foz do Iguaçu.

 

 For 1 – 4 passengers – Private Sedan – Toyota Corolla, Chevrolet Zafira, Chevrolet Meriva or similar

Baggage Allowance:  4 standard sized principal suitcases or backpacks + 4 small carry on items able to fit at your feet if you are a group of 4. If you plan to travel with more luggage than the allowance, then contract the van transfer for 5 passengers instead.

 

  For 5 – 12 passengers – Private MiniVan – Renault Master, Mercedes Sprinter or similar

Baggage Allowance:  12 standard sized principal suitcases or backpacks + 15 small carry on items able to fit at your feet if you are a group of 12.  Contact us before booking if you plan to travel with more luggage than the allowance.
